Saariselkä, located in Northern Lapland, is a
versatile tourist centre and a lively village offering a wide variety
of services. The Urho Kekkonen National Park extends all the way from
the village to Koilliskairas where locals, as well as our visitors,
explore the park's unforgettable nature.

are some examples of our wide selections..
FISHING TRIP AT WILDERNESS LAKE
This trip takes you to the genuine wilderness of Lapland. We start at
hotel 10.00 and drive to the small wilderness lake Salmijärvi by
Hammastunturi wilderness area. This small wilderness lake has so clear
water that you can drink it and there you’ll spend the next few hours
with your guide trying your luck in fishing by the lake, which is
bounded with arctic trouts, graylings and pike perchs. At the campsite
your guide has prepared your lunch by open fire - grilled salmon with
creamy onion potatoes and wild mushroom sauce. After the lunch we
return back to Saariselkä.
Duration of the trip 4 hours.
GOLD PANNING
Meet
your guide at the hotel reception and head to the historical gold
prospector areas,
where even today men work on their claims. You’ll learn the methods of
gold digging and panning
and if you are lucky you’ll finish with gold nuggets shining in your
pan!
We are invited to have tasty Lappish coffee by open fire and what ever
you want to learn about
gold and jemstones you can now learn from these experts. Duration of
the trip approx. 3 – 4 hours
ENDURO BIKE SAFARI
We
meet at the safari club, change clothing into driving gear.
After a short driving school we head behind the guide all driving our
own
4 stroke KTM enduro bikes to the fells.
Our route goes over the treeless fells, trough unhabited
forests.
We
stop for a coffee by open fire at a cottage behind the fells. Duration
of the trip approx. 2,5-3 hours
MUSEUM TRIP TO INARI
Pick up from your hotel and we head with a small bus to Ivalo and
Inari.
The road goes by the shores of beautiful Inari Lake to small lappish
village Inari.
In Inari we visit the new Sami Museum and the Northern Lapland Visitor
Centre with a unique cultural and ecological
exhibitions telling about life’s adaption to extreme northern
conditions and of the unity of man and nature.
Visit also in Inari the Lappish Church by the lake and possibility to
do shopping in various handicraft shops.
Duration of the trip approximately 4-5 hours
BOAT TRIP ON LEMMENJOKI RIVER
Departure from Saariselkä at 8.30. a.m. and we drive via Ivalo and
Inari to Lemmenjoki, a distance of 120 km.
The road itself is beautiful, partly along the famous Inari lake.In
small Lappish village Njurgalahti we board long traditional
river boats for the trip on river Lemmenjoki down to Ravadas falls
with approximately 45 minutes drive on an amazingly beautiful
wilderness
river in National Park of Lemmenjoki. At Ravadas water falls we taste
the clean and clear water and then take a
1,5 km hiking tour to a wilderness hut by the river. We’ll take the
boat drive back to Nujrgalahti
and enjoy lunch and then and return to Saariselkä by coach.
Free time on the way
in Inari for shopping etc.
